The Colorado Springs School District No. 11 community
will empower ALL its students to become educated,
lifelong learners and responsible citizens.
The Colorado Springs School District No. 11 community
will demand:
· Continuous improvement of student achievement,
· Safe environments,
· Efficient and effective use of resources.
School District 11 students consistently capture top
awards in state and national academic competitions
in forensics, history, geography, writing, foreign
language, vocational education, music, art, English,
math and science. They rate higher than the national
averages on the standardized tests.
In 2001-02, D-11 students taking the SAT scored 34
points higher than the national average in math and
38 points higher in verbal. Those taking the ACT scored
.8 composite points lower than the national composite
average. In school year 2000-01, for the first time,
the ACT test was mandatory for all Colorado high school
juniors.
